Yukti (“we”, “us”) makes the Yukti app for learning about money and runs yukti.finance. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@yukti.finance.
The short version: we collect only what's needed to run your account and save your progress. We don't sell your data. The free version shows ads from Google, and you can delete your account and all your progress at any time.
What we collect
If you create an account
- Email address, to sign you in and let you reset your password.
- Password, if you sign up with email. It's stored in hashed form by our sign-in provider; we can never see it.
- Google account details, if you choose “Continue with Google”: your email address and a Google account identifier. We don't get your Google password or contacts.
Your learning progress
To keep your progress safe when you change phones, we store it with your account. This includes:
- lessons completed, quiz scores and questions to review;
- XP, acorns, energy, streaks, daily goals, badges and league standing;
- the display name and avatar emoji you pick (you don't have to use your real name);
- days you were active and when you joined;
- any budget you save in the Budget Lab (an example income, its split and currency). Budget Lab figures are practice numbers; please don't enter real account details.
If you use Yukti without an account, your progress stays on your device only.
Advertising
The free version of the Android app shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and general device information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice any time under Profile → Privacy & Ad Choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Reminders
If you turn on daily reminders, they're scheduled on your phone. We don't send them from our servers or track whether you open them.
This website
yukti.finance doesn't use cookies, analytics or trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when you visit.
How we use it
- to provide the app: sign-in, saving and syncing progress, streaks and leagues;
- to show ads in the free version;
- to keep Yukti secure and fix problems;
- to reply when you contact us.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it to make decisions about you that have legal or similar effects.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress until you delete your account. When you do, your account and progress are deleted from our systems straight away, apart from copies in routine backups, which are overwritten within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Profile → Account → Delete account, or see how to delete your account.
- See, correct or get a copy of your data: email us and we'll help within 30 days.
- Ads: change your consent in the app, or reset your advertising ID on your device.
Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR or US state laws), you may have further rights, such as to object, withdraw consent or complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Yukti isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you're under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before creating an account. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to your progress is limited to your own account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If the changes are significant, we'll tell you in the app.
